Now On Tap : Ottawa Pale Ale
The Ottawa Pale Ale is different from any other beer brewed by The Clocktower Brew Pub over its 21 year history. What makes it truly unique lies in the yeast used to ferment the beer. In preparing for the O.P.A. we asked our friends at Rideau Pine Farms for a selection of wild red currants which were forwarded to our yeast supplier. The yeast supplier then carefully isolated an individual yeast strain from the wild berries, which we used in fermentation process. The final result is a completely individual beer made with ingredients from the Ottawa region, craft brewed at the Clocktower Brewery for you, the local craft beer lover.
Ottawa Pale Ale is the perfect beer to celebrate both the summer patio season and Canada's momentous 150th birthday!
The Ottawa Pale Ale is an unfiltered, light bodied and refreshing beer. The use of the Ottawa yeast strain adds elements of strawberries, blueberries, and watermelon, giving the beer a balanced fruit profile while having subtle hop notes. As with the yeast, the grain selection used in the O.P.A. is a tribute to the traditional pale ale recipes found in the Ottawa region, at the turn of the century. Enjoy!

Now on Tap! PINT OF THE LIVING DEAD
Available exclusively at this weekend's Ottawa ComicCon and on tap at all Clocktower locations across Ottawa!
Pint of the Living Dead Tasting Notes:
The Pint of the Living Dead is a red ale brewed with rye malt which imparts a spicy flavour. This flavour is matched with extra sweetness from the selection of malt used in the brew. The bitterness of the beer is very low with no real hop notes. The body is light which makes the beer highly drinkable.
The #POTLD was brewed in celebration of the work of George A. Romero and all he has done for the zombie genre. Artwork is courtesy of local cartoonist & illustrator Tom Fowler.
The Clocktower Brewery cannot guarantee that a zombie virus was not created in the brewing of this beer ;)

38th Battalion Ale
Now on tap at all Clocktower locations and available from our Glebe Brewhouse for take away in 473ml cans!
Our 38th Battalion Ale was brewed in tribute of the 100th Anniversary of The Battle of Vimy Ridge and for the brave men of the 38th Ottawa Overseas Battalion who fought on that day. This limited edition ale pays tribute to all the men and women of the Armed Services who have struggled in pursuit of freedom, and paid the ultimate price.
38th Tasting Notes
The 38th is brewed using Canadian Malt and French Hops. The colour is slightly darker than our Clocktower Bitter, carrying a deep copper hue. It is clean up front with just a hint of bread crust flavour followed by a floral hop finish, with hints of oranges and papaya. There is very little bitterness up front, with a soft bitter roll out at the end.
The 38th is a traditional recipe beer, very similar to the popular turn of the century Pale Ales.

CT Vienna Spring Ale is now on tap!
Vienna Spring Ale Tasting Notes :
This is the perfect beer to enjoy while taking in the first few weeks of patio season...finger crossed Ottawa! ;)
The Vienna is clean, crisp, and highly carbonated with a very light body. There is not much aroma to the beer other than a slight hint of bread. The predominate flavour is that of a sweet bread or lightly toasted caramel.
There is also a mild spicy floral note in the after taste from the hops. Although these flavors are identifiable, they are very light and mild.
The Vienna Spring Ale was patterned from a Vienna style lager, and while it is not a lager; all of the imported raw materials (hops and malts), are characteristic of this traditional style.

Now on Tap...Empty Netter Ale!
Empty Netter Tasting notes:
The Empty netter is a super clean, almost lager-like dark ale. Hints of chocolate and caramel are present at first but give way to nice light body. There is very little bitterness in this beer to allow all of the flavors to rise to the surface. It is the perfect match for braised meats. It is the perfect beer for after a day outside on the rink, the toboggan hill, or the canal.

NOW ON TAP : East Coast IPA
East Coast IPA Tasting Notes :
This classic English style IPA has a rich caramel color.
It is made with a unique blend of four different hops. Our IPA has a more complex bitterness than that of the other Clocktower beers; however it does remain soft and flavorful.
The hop flavour of this IPA comes through as floral & citrus notes. There are some pine notes but they are not as prevalent. There are also caramel notes prevalent along with a slight degree of toffee flavour.
"East Coast" refers to the East Coast of the North America, where IPA’s are brewed with British hops in a more traditional manner versus the West Coast IPA’s which usually have a strong citrus flavor.

December Dark Ale
December Dark Ale Tasting Notes
Our December Dark is brewed with twelve unique malts. It is 5.8% ABV, however it is very clean and does not taste like a traditional strong beer. Knifewear Tongue Cutter West Coast IPA is now on tap for a limited time
Tongue Cutter West Coast IPA Tasting Notes
We are proud to present the third brew of our Knifewear Ottawa Tongue Cutter IPA. This is the hoppiest beer that we make, with more hop flavours than our popular winter IPA. What distinguishes Tongue Cutter IPA from our Clocktower IPA is the use of West Coast citrus hops creating a distinct grapefruit and passion fruit flavour. The malt profile is slightly sweeter to balance off the hoppy bitterness at the finish.
Tongue Cutter IPA is now on tap at all our Ottawa locations and available in 650ml bombers from our Glebe location.

Our Clocktower Pumpkin Ale is now on tap at all locations until October 31st
The Pumpkin Tasting Notes
The colour of the Pumpkin Ale is dark orange to amber, which makes it close to the colour of roasted pumpkin. The flavours and aromas in the beer are quite delicate. When it is left to simmer in the mouth for a moment or two, the distinct spice notes burst forth. The initial flavour is somewhat sweet, but that only lasts for a moment, as the taste of pumpkin and spice fill up the palate. It has very little after taste although it does leave a dry tingle on the tongue after the initial sip.
We use only real pumpkin in the mash, along with our own custom selection of Autumn spices, which are added later, with the hops into the boil.
We are proud to say that this is our 8th year of brewing The Pumpkin Ale.
%ALC = 5% IBU = 18 SRM = 9
650ml bombers and 473ml cans of The Pumpkin Ale are available at our Glebe location seven days a week, from 11AM to 9PM.

Clocktower Kriek Tasting Notes
1. There are 50lb of fresh sour cherries in each batch of Kriek.
2. The beer pours on bright gold with pink highlights. The head is slightly pink.
3. The aroma is a mix of sweet cherries and other berries. The flavor is 100% cherry.
4. There is more cherry flavor in the Kriek than there is Raspberry in the Raspberry Wheat.
5. Very mild and easy to drink.
